I am a consultant clinical neurophysiologist and CEO of the charity TeleEEG. As a clinical neurophysiologist I help diagnose conditions of the brain and nervous system using electrical techniques. One of the tests I use to help in the diagnosis of epilepsy is electroencephalography (EEG). EEG involves measuring the brain waves of people by applying electrodes to the scalp and recording the electrical activity. I have been carrying out this activity in the NHS now for over 20 years. Further, TeleEEG has around 50 clinics throughout the world helping diagnose epilepsy in under resourced countries.

My current appointments are:
  • Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist – North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust

  • Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist – Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
  • Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist – Spire Hospital Washington
  • Honorary Senior Lecturer – University of Central Lancashire
  • CEO – TeleEEG
  • Director – Electrodiagnostic Services

The Voice for Epilepsy is doing a commendable job in promoting epilepsy education. As more people become aware of this condition we can gain better and fairer treatment for all. I thoroughly endorse the work of this charity and hope to support this worthwhile cause in future initiatives.
