A seizure is defined as a sudden, temporary disruption of electrical activity in the brain, affecting how the brain communicates with the body. This can manifest as changes in movement, thought, feelings, behavior, or awareness. Seizures can last from a few seconds to several minutes and vary in severity, with some being subtle and easily missed. Not all seizures involve convulsions or loss of consciousness.
