Seizures present in various ways, and the appropriate first aid response depends on the type. This lesson outlines three main types:
•Tonic-Clonic Seizures: Involve loss of consciousness, body stiffening followed by jerking movements, potential loss of bladder control, and often confusion or tiredness afterward.
•Focal Seizures: May or may not affect awareness, can involve unusual movements, sensations, or behaviors, and the person might appear confused or distracted.
•Absence Seizures: Characterized by brief losses of awareness, often appearing as staring into space, lasting only a few seconds, and frequently mistaken for daydreaming.
