Epilepsy First Aid Course
Recognizing a seizure can be challenging as not all involve shaking. If unsure, it’s always best to treat it as a seizure and prioritize safety. Common signs include:
Confusion: The person may appear confused, disoriented, frightened, or overwhelmed.
Unresponsive Staring: Blank staring and unresponsiveness when spoken to.
Shaking or Falling: Sudden shaking or falling to the ground.
Wandering Behaviour: Aimless walking or unusual behavior.
Repetitive Movements: Such as lip smacking, chewing, or hand motions.
Jerks & Twitches: Sudden jerking, twitches, or trembling movements.
