What To Do During a Seizure: Step by Step

Stay Calm

Remain calm and reassure others nearby.

Do Not Restrain

Do not try to hold the person down.

Protect from Injury

Move objects away from the person.

Nothing in the Mouth

Never place objects or fingers in their mouth.

Cushion the Head

Support the head and roll them onto their side.

Time the Seizure

Note when the seizure starts and ends.

Note:

Most seizures stop naturally within 2–3 minutes
Your role is to keep the person safe until the seizure ends
