Beth Yvonne who suffers from Idiopathic generalised combined epilepsy

I have Idiopathic generalised combined epilepsy I suffer with tonic clonic, absence and partial awareness seizures. I was diagnosed 10 years ago but have had seizures from age 2, I went undiagnosed until I had a 6 minute seizure at college in 2014.

I had to catch up on course work at college and very nearly missed out on getting into university but I did and I got my 2:1 degree in Bsc Forensic and Analytical Science in 2020.

I hid my epilepsy for years as I had a misunderstanding and lack of any general knowledge of epilepsy and I didn’t take care of myself but my seizures became regular and intense in 2021 and this gave me the strength to want to gain more knowledge about myself and epilepsy in general.

Now I run an epilepsy awareness instagram account @epilepsywarriors which has allowed me to create a support network for myself and fellow epilepsy warriors in the UK and around the world and I am 3 months seizure free!

I want to thank all the people in my life: My Fiancee, My Siblings, My best friend, My companion, My grandmother, My nephews, My in laws and all my chosen family I love you all and I thank you for supporting me.
